BACKGROUND:
Once a US colony, the Philippines is still a country with great US government support and cultural influence. There are currently 5,000 US troops in the Philippines. Human rights abuses in the Philippines have skyrocketed in recent years. Poverty is so great that one in ten Filipinos lives abroad to support their families back home.

What is the history and current situation in the Philippines? What can we do, as church people, community members and migrants, to support peace and justice in the Philippines and for Filipino migrants everywhere?

DIRECTIONS:
From Journal Square PATH: Right on JFK Blvd, left on Newark Ave, Left on Tonnele Ave, Right on Broadway. 95 Broadway will be on the left.
